How Rocket Mobile and Rocket Lens enhance SAP DSC Technology
Exploring Rocket Mobile and Rocket Lens features able to improve SAP Digital Supply Chain Technology, solving the People, Performance and Planet challenges of modern digital supply chains.

Rocket and its Sustainable Approach

Being an SAP Gold Partner with digital supply chain at core, Rocket’s mission is to impactfully advance the supply chain and operations management practices of leading SAP-run businesses in a responsible and sustainable way.

Among its services, Rocket offers Rocket Mobile and Rocket Lens. Both compatible with SAP ECC, S/4HANA and SAP digital supply chain platforms, such as SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM), they are not only fully integrated into SAP without complex middleware, interfaces or external software platforms, but they also play a pivotal role in decoding and improving SAP DSC Technology within SAP-run companies.

Rocket Mobile: How It Upgrades SAP DSC Technology

Rocket has developed an SAP digital supply chain add-on for SAP EWM: Rocket Mobile. This solution demonstrates how Rocket is embracing SAP DSC technology to make a meaningful difference to the working lives of thousands of supply chain operatives.

Rocket Mobile seamlessly integrates offline working into the EWM mobile framework. As a result, SAP-run businesses can transition from traditional paper-based offline workspaces to mobile digital environments for their operations. In this way, businesses in all areas can digitalise paper-based inspection processes that combine questions, photo, document capture, and signature for audit and compliance. The acquired material is then integrated into the SAP content server as PDF document, readily accessible through an optimised document flow.

This solution concretely acts on challenges employees face on a daily basis across SAP-run supply chains, improving their personal user experience, productivity and environmental footprint, in accordance respectively with the People, Performance and Planet values proper of Rocket.

Rocket Mobile is a user friendly, intuitive, and accessible mobile solution that incorporates and improves SAP DSC Technology. It supports diversity and inclusion in the workforce by providing personalised accessibility controls. It boasts a streamlined user interface with clear visual feedback and includes easily accessible help and AI-powered natural language procedure support.

Rocket Mobile and its User Experience Focus

Rocket Mobile addresses modern user experience needs with a user-centric design around the six core principles of User Experience: Usability, Visual Design, Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Accessibility, and Performance.

A helping (digital) hand with unplanned User Experience activities

While optimising the traditional benefits of mobilising processes, Rocket has taken the time to reflect on how people work in the real world, which is not always in a utopian linear way. Rocket Mobile provides a flexible user experience that allows handling of concurrent and unplanned activities, such as Health and Safety incidents, equipment inspections and failures and even reporting a system or process issue, without interrupting the task at hand.

Rocket CEO Lewis Marston comments: “Rocket Mobile demonstrates how we live our values, applying a real-world perspective, crafting complex software and technology into a practical, user-centric solution that is easy to use for real people in the real world.

Rocket Lens: Mastering SAP DSC Technology with Timesaving Steps, without Paper-Based Tasks

Rocket has recently launched Rocket Lens, the inbuilt app which provides AI-powered document capture to automatically extract document information. This latest addition to the Rocket’s portfolio includes an intuitive user interface, with practical improvements to suit the diverse working environments across the supply chain.

Time-efficient approach - Rocket Lens is able to trigger SAP EWM and SAP S4 processes from the mobile device thanks to Robotic Process Automation (RPA), opting for a timesaving, sustainable approach that minimises paper usage and reduces errors. A recent example involving consumer electronics serial capture shows that, while before 20 to 30 individual interactions of serial number scans and handling unit updates were required, the adoption of Rocket Lens allowed this to be accomplished with a single document capture (saving around 15 minutes per pallet).

Rocket Lens RPA can remove up to 95% of admin time spent on paper-based tasks, boosting productivity, and reducing operating cost.

Skip labelling items - Another advantage of Rocket Lens consists in the use of AI-powered Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Looking beyond barcodes to further reduce paper usage and automate paper-based processes, OCR enables Rocket Lens to skip labelling millions of items. Rocket Lens can reliably identify products from alphanumeric information shown directly on the product or product packaging. This process not only saves paper and time but also adds accuracy to previously challenging product identification and handling scenarios.

Rocket CEO Lewis Marston stresses: “It’s part of our culture to ask ‘Is there a better way?’ Rocket Lens is a good example of our innovative approach to creating better business outcomes and pioneering ways of working.
