Arla Wins 2015 Quality Award for Innovation

Written by Lewis Marston | December 19,2015

Following its Best Factory Innovation Award win in October, Rocket Consulting’s client Arla Foods UK has won Gold in the Innovation category of SAP’s Quality Excellence Awards in 2015.

The awards recognise customers that drive value from SAP software, with winners being the organisations that best demonstrate time-to-value and a focus on achieving quality throughout the implementation of a project.

The biggest dairy company in the UK and the largest fresh milk factory in the world, Arla won the Innovation category for its cutting-edge facility in Aylesbury. Key to the operation of the dairy is an Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) system, configured and implemented by Rocket Consulting.

Rocket focuses on enabling its customers to operate, innovate and differentiate faster and more effectively. The objective is to create high efficiency businesses through digital transformation built around supply chain, enterprise mobility, SAP HANA, Internet of Things, cloud and real-time insight and analytics. In this role it worked with Arla on its greenfield site to introduce features including the use of operational technology, such as Automatic Guided Vehicles and a voice and RFID-enabled mobile workforce, as well as ensure tight integration with Arla’s high speed production processes. Full details are available in the case study.

The project used standard SAP software wherever possible, combined with Rocket’s in-depth SAP expertise and fast-track implementation skills that minimised the configuration and development time. Innovative enhancements and bespoke functionality were added by Rocket as required. Future rollouts will be simplified by the template solution developed as a core part of the implementation.

Lewis Marston, CEO at Rocket Consulting, comments: “Coming hard on the heels of the Best Factory Award, SAP’s accolade for Arla is well-deserved. The company understands the importance of innovation to run better, differentiate itself and create competitive advantage, as well as the need to increase return on investment by maximising its use of strategic SAP platforms.”
