Congratulations to Arla, Winner of the 2015 Best Factory Innovation Award

Arla Foods UK, the largest dairy company in the country and a Rocket Consulting client, recently won the Best Factory Innovation Award for its state-of-the-art operation in Aylesbury: http://www.bestfactoryawards.co.uk/article-details/arla-foods/107866/

Opened in 2014, the Aylesbury dairy processes and packages the equivalent of 1.5m bottles of milk a day, making it the largest fresh milk factory in the world.

Judges were impressed at the technological innovation at the Aylesbury operation, believing that it paves the way for dairies of the future that balance efficient operation with being environmentally friendly.

An integral part of the cold store that enables this technical achievement is Arla’s SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) system, configured and implemented by Rocket Consulting.

Key features, all of which focus on driving efficiencies, include: the use of Automatic Guided Vehicles and a mobile-enabled workforce, improved management information and resource management, and tight integration to high speed production processes.
